Exclusive Beer Brewed Just for Beerfest Royale!

Yesterday, around 4 pm, I couldn’t hold in my excitement as I got the opportunity to sample the first batch of Beeron von Steuben’s Reserve at Boxcar Brewing Company. This special Oktoberfest was brewed specifically for our upcoming event, King of Prussia Beerfest Royale, and it will make its debut at our Friday Night Preview Party, Friday, October 5, 2012.

The traditional Oktoberfest, brewed in a non-traditional style is an incredible combination of German Hops (Hallertau and Spalt), Vienna Malt, Munich Malt and Pilsner Malt. The special Oktoberfest Ale presents unique flavors not typically seen in an Oktoberfest.

Owner and brewmaster at Boxcar Brewing Company, Jason Kosher explained his hesitation in brewing an Oktoberfest being that many of the area breweries already brew Oktoberfest beers, and do it very well. So when we challenged him to create a unique Oktoberfest for our festival, he spent weeks researching traditional Oktoberfest beers and exploring available ingredients at many stores. After a few test rounds, I’d say he has created the PERFECT Oktoberfest!

We decided on the playful name Beeron von Steuben’s Reserve. The name comes from Baron Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben. He is the former Prussian staff officer who was instrumental in training the Continental Army to be a strong, capable force as they departed Valley Forge during the Revolutionary War.

We would like to give a HUGE thank you to the team at Boxcar Brewing Company, a community oriented brewery, for creating this exclusive beer for our Beerfest Royale guests. The beer will be available for our Friday Night Preview Party and during both sessions on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Local King of Prussia retailers will also carry the specialty brew while available.

Tickets for Beerfest Royale are available for purchase now at kopbeerfest.com. Friday, October 5 Preview Party tickets are $85 per person. Saturday, October 6 General Admission Session 1 or 2 tickets are $45 per person. Purchases of six tickets or more will qualify for the “Six-Pack Discount,” taking $5 off each ticket. In addition, a Group Rate is available for Friday Night tickets. Purchase 25 or more tickets to receive $15 off each ticket.

Friday Night, attendees will experience a fully catered evening, receive a glass beer mug and have an opportunity to enjoy exclusive beers, not available on Saturday. All Saturday attendees will receive a KOP Beerfest Royale tasting glass for unlimited beer samples during their session.
